So, I don’t completely disagree with you but as a fan who was there it was heartbreaking. I think the problem I have is they didn’t manage the clock well in the 2nd half and it allowed Syracuse to go on that run. Once tech had the lead it felt like the defense let the foot off the gas however, again they couldn’t stop the run. I will say APR was held on multiple plays but that’s football right? I do think this is one of the things Hokie teams do- they can’t finish. It’s a constant and consistent issue, a Tech fan told me after the game - “same old Tech football.” Yeah. I’ve been watching this team since Druck and it just feels inevitable that they are gonna Hokie it up.

Yeah, it was pretty clear Syracuse would get the ball back and go right down the field and score a TD. The margin of error is just too small right now. It's definitely frustrating that all the 50/50 games have ended up in the "L" column, but that's the risk when you play teams with equal or greater talent.

My impression was that the called defense was very much pedal to the medal in the second half (continued press man, blitzing, etc.), but they started getting burned on it when the players stopped executing (missed tackles, poor angles, not knowing the play call, etc.). Too often teams go into a prevent defense and let the opponent get a rhythm going and get back in the game. To his credit, Marve stayed aggressive. It's a shame the results weren't better.
